Our WordPress installation here at International-Anarchy.com supports OpenID authentication. What does that mean for you? Well if you have an OpenID and wish to make a comment on our website, all you have to do is provide your OpenID URL when commenting to pass on your user information. For Team Members given access to the WordPress backend, you can now use an OpenID to login to the website, simplifying and speeding up authentication.

I am also looking into a few different options to support OpenID on our forums too, so stay tuned for that in the near future.

I just moved our forum system to phpBB3. So far everything is working great, the only exceptions to the rule are the following…

1. You MAY have to update your password before you can log in. The log in panel will give you a message saying that you have to reset your password. You can try to log in again, or you may have to reset your password.

2. Be careful with the [youtube] tags now. You have to not only use the button above the posting area, but you have to include the URL WITH it’s full address. Meaning that it must read something like http://www.youtube.com/blahblahblah That www is NECESSARY for the youtube BBCode to work. Old posts will need to be updated over time; that is the post has to be edited, old youtube code removed, and then the youtube link plus bbcode re-entered.

3. USERS MAY HAVE RECEIVED MANY COPIES OF THE SAME E-MAIL FROM OUR FORUMS! I am sorry about that, it was a phpBB issue and has now been corrected. You will receive one more mass e-mail message from the forums apologizing for this inconvenience.

The New Version of phpBB3 allows for ATTACHMENTS in posts. Now you can attach various files with ease, and all the files are stored to your user account for management.

That is all I have noticed for now. The forums, as always, are accessible from http://forums.international-anarchy.com/ If you guys find anything else please post about an issues on the forums or let me know.

All posts were marked with who wrote them before. I now have updated a few of the configuration files on the site that link to the Author’s page. The link is embedded into the Authors name displayed on the post. On the Author’s page you will find an archive of all the posts that user has written on our site. I am going to bed now, a hard earned reward for today’s rollout!

That’s right folks! It is time to turn in the old, static HTML web pages of before and move on up! Today International-Anarchy.com moves up to a WordPress installation. This will not only make updating the site easier for me, but I can now have members of the team do news and other front page updates. Visitors can also make comments on all of our news articles, which should be a wonderful new feature. I would like to thank [IA]Jaffa for being an AMAZING beta tester! He helped speed up the roll out of our new website! So sit back and enjoy the new site guys!

I have given up on Joomla. Far too complicated for our basic needs. I have installed another CMS that is ready to roll. This software has been easier to set up, and once I have the final tweaks done, then we will move to it. These basic HTML pages will be archived away for reference. Stay tunned to this page and I will let you know which CMS I am using now for the Team.

Our Ventrilo died the other day because our Voice provider tanked. I have set up a new server with TypeFrag and so far it has be wonderful! Lanwar 36 has come and gone and the team had a blast! I am still trying to find the best Joomla configuration set up along with re-configuring the team E-mails. That is about all I have for you guys. I plan on just forgetting about the next version of Joomla and finding the perfect set up with 1.0. Once it is in place only Security updates will need to be done. For now there is no reason to always be on the cutting edge. Just like our forums, if it isn’t broken, don’t mess with it!

The reason I have not been updating our main page as much, and the “News” section in the forums even less, is that I am currently preparing to upgrade our site to use Joomla for our news and content management system. The current static HTML pages is just not the trick, and with the 1 year anniversary of this site being online I thought it was time to upgrade to a more professional look. In the following months leading up to the first of September I will be leading the rest of the team members on with some beta testing for Joomla. I plan to launch with 1.5, if it is out of Beta by then. If it is not, then we will plan from there and may not make the deadline. Stay tuned to this space for more information.

As we close out 2006 we look forward to a new year of gaming, friendship, and of course LanWars. Yet, we also look forward to the new features of both the Team and our website. We have completed the move of our website to a new domain name, www.International-Anarchy.com. Once the DNS records have been processed correctly, the old domains will just point to the new location.

I am pleased to announce the birth of the new International Anarchy website and forums! After a major renovation to the team structure, it was time to move on to a real web server. The team has worked hard for not only its name, but for what we have built together has friends. With this faster and better site than our old free forums, we can now only expect to look better and better. Overtime we will grow stronger, win more tournaments at Lanwar if we can, and just have a solid, good time playing our favorite games together.

So, what have we installed? We now have our own hosting site that we can use fully functional databases, we have our own e-mail for all of our members and activities, and finally we have the .com, .net, and .org extensions for International Anarchy. All of this is provided by godaddy.com

Along with our new site, all members now have a new email at this domain name. To obtain your logon information and how to access your email, just contact me since most of them are already set up.

Our new Ventrilo server is located at vent.international-anarchy.com. Port number, server password, and other information will be provided by me when you first connect.

Guys, we have worked hard and endured a lot to reach this point, I would like to formally announce that International-Anarchy.com is now live!
